Although our site has a currency conversion feature the conversion rates are a guide for your convenience only. They are updated once each US business day. You will be charged in Australian dollars. We do not guarantee the accuracy of this information.

Steps to counter credit card fraud

Opalshop reserves the right to question the validity of the card holder if they are from Singapore or Indonesia or if there appears something suspicious about the order.

Goods and Services Tax (GST)

GST is to be collected from all Australian customers at a rate of 10%. This does not apply to international customers.

The rest of the world are responsible for any taxes, duties or other liabilities imposed by any governmental agency, including without limitation, any customs duty, GST or any value added tax imposed on any products or services acquired or ordered by you from this web site.

We give a 7 day money-back guarantee from the time of receipt of the goods.

Terms for returning products

You must inform Opal Shop within 7 Days of receipt if you have any problems with your order so that we can reach a solution that is mutually agreeable.
This agreement is null and void if any stones are damaged, or if any attempt has been made to be cut or alter the goods or if they have been dropped or broken while setting.
Special buy-ins or special manufacture are excluded from the Money Back Guarantee.
Other items that cannot be returned are earrings that have been worn, or those items which are specifically noted in their description on this web site as non-returnable.
If goods are damaged in transit then a refund, credit or exchange will be arranged according to mutual agreement.
Any refund or claim will be subject to Australia Post paying said damage claim first.
Postage costs will be deducted from any credit amount.
All returned goods must be insured and freight paid.

Any taxes or charges out side those of the original product will NOT be refunded as these are out side our control.

Postage Policy


We require that all parcels be insured.
This is an opt-in on check out service.
If you feel you don’t require this then YOU are taking responsibly for damage.
We will send goods by Australia Post. There are three levels of service generally used:
EMS ……Express service with tracking
Airmail….Medium time frame with tracking
Economy a bit longer NO Tracking
Some goods include freight and some are plus freight
Postage is charged at Australian Post rates.
All returned goods must be insured. 

Dispatch of Goods

We strive to dispatch within 2 working days
Delivery estimates are Australia posts estimates
Once dispatched Opalshop has NO control over the delivery times.


Any refund or claim will be subject to Australia Post paying said damage claim first.
If customers chooses  No cover on Check Out then Cover is NOT extended to the purchase.

Opal Parcels

We will endeavor to inform buyers of all details associated with the Opal. A full disclosure of faults will be done to the best of our knowledge.

Weights and Measurements

All weights are approximate only and should be used as a guide.
A lot of the material may be wet when weighed.
All so dust and dirt is obviously part of the opal business this can be attached to the rough and consequently come adrift with handling.
All our deals are based on value of the deal. It is not sold $$$ per gram.
Measurement is again approximate. This should be used only to give an indication of size.
